Once again in recent weeks, Dababy has found himself in the headlines and this time the rapper is facing felony battery charges for an alleged beating during a music video shoot last year.

According to TMZ, North Carolina property manager Gary Pagar has filed a lawsuit against the rapper, alleging that he suffered significant injuries while attempting to shut down a video shoot at his rental property.

DaBaby booked Pagar’s Los Angeles residence for a week last December to shoot a music video and according to Pagar, the rapper agreed to limit the number of guests to 12 throughout his stay. However, Pagar noticed the rapper had upwards of 40 persons at his home on Dec. 2, which in turn meant he had violated their lease agreement.

Pagar was assaulted while attempting to deal with the matter, as shown in a video acquired by TMZ when a member of DaBaby’s crew pushed him to the ground, and Pagar’s tooth was allegedly knocked out when the rapper hit him in the mouth.

In addition, Thankgod Awute, another man on the premises then joined in the attack before seizing Pagar’s phone and preventing him from calling the authorities and is now facing felony robbery charges.

This comes only days after a newly surfaced footage of Dababy in an altercation in 2018 which led to the death of a teen was released, calling into question the rapper’s previous claim of self-defense in that case.

According to TMZ, the rapper’s attorneys have full confidence that the previously unseen CCTV footage revealed by Rolling Stone undermines Dababy’s self-defense argument.

Prosecutors reportedly studied the video of the incident in 2018, according to Drew Findling and Marissa Goldberg, who both represent DaBaby, saying that they came to the conclusion that DaBaby acted in self-defense.

Dababy’s legal team said to TMZ, “Witnesses were interviewed and corroborated Mr. Kirk’s statement. The entirety of the surveillance video was viewed and determined to corroborate Mr. Kirk’s statement … Mr. Kirk was protecting himself and his family at the time of the shooting.”

Furthermore, Dababy was recently involved in a shooting of a man earlier last month in his home, with cops currently investigating the event.
