Adele is “close to finalizing a deal” with a new theatre in Las Vegas, three months after being forced to postpone her initial residency at Caesars Palace’s The Colosseum.

According to TMZ, Adele is working to secure her residency for “late summer” at Planet Hollywood’s Zappos Theater, which has the capacity to seat 7,000 guests as compared to 4,100 at Caesars Palace.

According to the outlet, Adele will have full creative control over the event under the proposed deal and will secure dates from this summer until the end of the year, “barring any unforeseen setbacks.”

The news comes after Adele said in a video shared to Instagram in January that her planned performance in Vegas, which was set to begin on January 21 and run through April, had been postponed.

“I’m so sorry, but my show ain’t ready,” she said. “We’ve tried absolutely everything we can to put it together in time and for it to be good enough for you, but we’ve been absolutely destroyed by delivery delays and COVID. Half my crew and team are [ill] with COVID and still are, and it’s been impossible to finish the show.”

Adding, “I’m gutted — I’m sorry it’s so last minute, we’ve been awake for over 30 hours trying to figure it out and we’ve run out of time. I’m so upset and I’m really embarrassed and so sorry to everyone that traveled to get [to the show]. I’m really, really sorry.”
