British rapper Little Simz has dropped a new single, “Hello, Hi,” marking her first solo release since her surprise EP, Drop 7, in February 2024. Produced by SHYY and Rigas, the track delves into her career journey with introspective lyrics, including: “Neighbours can’t believe how a Black woman got this far / But they rate it still, I was chasing dangerous thrills.”
While “Hello, Hi” is her first solo work in months, Little Simz had a productive 2024, with collaborations with the likes of Sampha for “Satellite Business 2.0” in July, contributed to Coldplay‘s “We Pray” in August, and featured on Wretch 32‘s “Black and British” in October.
The project also continues Simz‘s last full-length album, ‘No Thank You,’ released in 2022, which was met with widespread acclaim for its honest and thought-provoking themes.
With “Hello, Hi,” Simz shares a glimpse into her evolving artistry and reaffirms her position as a trailblazing figure in UK music.
