Ellie Goulding has announced her sixth studio album, I Know Too Much, arriving in September. The lead single “Black Prada Dress” drops this Friday, June 5th, having already had its live debut at Radio 1’s Big Weekend over the May bank holiday. She is also due to perform it on Later… with Jools Holland on June 7th.

The announcement arrives at a moment when Goulding‘s back catalogue is having something of a second life. “Starry Eyed” hit number one on TikTok earlier this year and re-entered the UK charts, introducing her music to a generation that was not quite around for the original run. That kind of resurgence tends to happen organically or not at all, and it sets up a new album release rather well.

The numbers behind her career are, by any measure, significant. Over 55 billion streams, 44 million albums sold, four UK number one singles, and a record for the most UK Singles Chart entries by a British female solo artist. She is tied with Adele for the most number one albums by a British female artist — a detail that tends to get overlooked. Goulding has previously earned Grammy and Golden Globe nominations, multiple BRIT Awards during her illustrious career. She has also been sampled by Drake, Jay-Z, Future, Lil Baby, and a handful of others, which speaks to a kind of cultural reach that goes beyond her own releases.

Away from music, Goulding has kept busy in directions that have little to do with album cycles. She has been a UN Ambassador since 2017, a WWF Ambassador since 2022, and has spoken at COP26, COP27, and COP28. In 2025 she was awarded an MBE for services to biodiversity and climate, and was named WWF’s “Voice of Nature,” lending her vocals to the organisation’s sonic logo. She has also been vocal about gender equality, and the conditions women face in recording studios, all while welcoming her second child Iris Edaline (daughter) in March.

On the business side, she co-founded Served, a sustainable alcohol brand growing steadily across the UK and Ireland, and launched Everystate, a mushroom wellness brand, in 2025. Neither is a vanity project — both sit within the sustainability space she has been publicly committed to for years.

I Know Too Much is out September 4th.
