Ari Lennox isn’t having it anymore, as the singer chastises a troll for previous derogatory remarks directed at her.

Lennox, who previously opened up about her challenges with social media and its negative impact on her has taken the chance to educate a South African DJ who appeared to be giving the singer a compliment.

Responding to a tweet on Tuesday (April 12), Ari turned down what appeared to be an invite to perform in the southern African country, as the invite came from DJ Mr SMeg aka Michael Bucwa.

The ‘Pressure’ singer tweeted in response to DJ Smeg’s post, which asked, “Hey @AriLennox, you are beautiful and i love your music. When are you coming to South Africa?” writing, “No thanks Smegma! Your entire existence is nauseating.”

Lennox’s tweet appeared to have confused many fans, as the DJ’s tweet seemed rather innocent and complimentary until loyal fans of the singer brought receipts.

The alleged tweet which was quoted by the fan read, “Ari Lennox is not beautiful.” The Twitter username on the account also appeared to be that of DJ Smeg’s, which then explained why Lennox’s response was justified.

Ari then addressed the fan’s receipt, writing:

“These trolls are relentless. 4 months straight they won’t stop bothering me. To all of my beautiful supporters in South Africa I love you dearly. To these weird obsessed evil individuals i pray you get therapy for your obsession of me.”

She then added, “Black twitter has been calling me ugly for years It don’t hurt like it once did. I recognize beauty standards vary and lots of self hate and oppression can play a big part in that. To my new troll fans theres not much more you can say.”

Sometime later, Lennox returned to Twitter and responded to the hoopla surrounding her response to the South African DJ, writing:

“F this. Some folks will choose to remain stupid. I hope everyone has a beautiful day 😘❤️”
