Taking to Instagram on Thursday, 10th June, Wan shared a picture of his laptop screen which seemed to reveal the official title for the sequel to ‘Aquaman’ and was dubbed ‘Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom’ with the caption, “The tide is rising.”

Though Aquaman 2’s plot has been kept under wraps, the title gives a hint as to what the film will be about. During last year’s DC FanDome panel, Wan, who helmed 2018’s Aquaman, offered some insights on the sequel, describing how it will differ from the first.
According to Collider, he added, “The second one is a little bit more serious, a little bit more relevant to the world we’re living in today.” adding, “That’s where it wants to go.”
The film will be produced by Wan and Peter Safran, with David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick returning as the writer. Jason Momoa, Amber Heard, and Patrick Wilson will all return to reprise their roles with the movie set for a December 16th, 2022, release date in cinemas.
