Rapper Lil Durk, whose real name is Durk Devontay Banks, has been arrested in Florida on a murder-for-hire charge and is currently held without bail.

The recent charge connects to a 2022 shooting in Los Angeles in which five individuals associated with OTF were charged for allegedly orchestrating the killing of Saviay’a Robinson, cousin of rival rapper Quando Rondo. The shooting reportedly targeted Rondo’s group in retaliation for the 2020 death of King Von, an emerging artist signed to OTF, who was fatally shot in a confrontation in Atlanta. While a friend of Quando Rondo faced initial charges in Von’s death, those charges were later dropped, and Rondo was not implicated.

The latest arrest marks another instance in which Durk has been entangled in high-stakes legal issues. He faced charges for a non-fatal shooting in Atlanta in 2019, although the case was eventually dropped. Separately, the mother of late Chicago rapper FBG Duck has recently filed a lawsuit implicating Lil Durk, OTF, and the late King Von in her son’s 2020 shooting death, adding further controversy.

The new indictment claims that an unnamed co-conspirator offered “money and lucrative music opportunities with OTF” to those who participated in the attack on Quando Rondo’s cousin.

Given the gravity of the accusations, Lil Durk could face decades in jail if convicted of murder-for-hire and conspiracy. However, the final punishment would be determined by the case’s evidence, his legal defense, and any potential plea bargains or reduced charges.

As of press time, Lil Durk has yet to release a public statement regarding his charges. Stay tuned to YEEEAAH! Network for more updates as they arrive.
