Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Davido has dropped a fresh single, “Awuke,” featuring Jamaican artist YG Marley, just in time for the Halloween season on October 31st, 2024.

The track, blending Afrobeat and Amapiano styles with a smooth log drum-driven beat, brings a vibrant rhythm to the duo’s love-themed lyrics. Co-written by rising star Moonlight Afriqa and produced by Mikakabeatz and Marvey Muzique, “Awuke” delivers a quintessential Afro-pop sound as Davido and Marley sing about the captivating allure of their love interests.

The single is accompanied by a visually dynamic music video directed by renowned cinematographer Daps and shot on location in Lagos, bringing a vibrant urban energy to the song’s narrative. Known for creating striking visuals that blend cultural aesthetics with a modern edge, Daps captures the spirit of “Awuke” perfectly, adding another layer to the track’s rich soundscape. The release also continues Davido’s string of successful projects following his fourth studio album, Timeless, which garnered three Grammy nominations and broke multiple streaming records.

Awuke” is expected to feature on Davido‘s highly anticipated fifth album, slated for release in 2024. Fans can also look forward to another collaboration between Davido and fellow Nigerian star Omah Lay, who recently hinted at a joint project in a forthcoming interview.
