While Dababy may wish the story just died out from the press, new reports of celebrities releasing statements against the rapper keep appearing and the latest of which comes from the likes of Madonna, Chris Brown, Elton John, Quest Love, and more.

Dababy has been met with massive backlash since his remarks at the Rolling Loud Miami event last Sunday, 25th July and the ‘Rockstar’ rapper has subsequently worsened matters with a number of ill-advised comments on social media, attempting to salvage what’s left of his fanbase.

Following his statements, the rapper has lost his sponsorship deal with fashion mega-house BoohooMan, who recently released a statement distancing themselves from the rapper and stating their full support for the LGBTQ+ community.

Now some days later, fellow peers of the artist have weighed in on his remarks, taking to social media to express their disbelief and disappointment at Dababy’s ignorance and insensitive comments after the fact.

Madonna who is widely known for her support for AIDS-related causes has chimed in, releasing a lengthy caption on Instagram addressing the rapper’s comments while educating him.

The pop-diva said: “A message to DaBaby – if you’re going to make hateful remarks to the LGBTQ+ community about HIV/AIDS then know your facts:

“After decades of hard won scientific research— there are life saving medicines available to children born with HIV, to people who contract HIV through blood transfusions, dirty needles or exchange of bodily fluids. These new ARV’s can keep a person with AIDS alive for the rest of their lives!!! AID’s is not transmitted by standing next to someone in a crowd.

“I want to put my cellphone lighter up and pray for your ignorance, No one dies of AIDS in 2 or 3 weeks anymore. Thank God 🙏.
And your sexist remarks about Ladies who’s pussies need to smell like water only encourage more discrimination against women who fight daily against the oppression of living under the constraints of the Male Gaze.

“People like you are the reason we are still living in a world divided by fear. All Human beings should be treated with dignity and respect regardless of race, gender, sexual preference or religious beliefs. AMEN. @dababy.”

However, R&B icon Chris Brown sought a more indirect format during his address on the topic, but who really needs a translator to determine who’s been talked about. See what we mean below.

On his Instagram Story, Breezy shared: “Shut the f*ck up…Do yo shows..Thank everybody. Then get the f*ck off stage”

Breezy’s comments are especially interesting as the singer has famously made headlines with several scandals of his own, all of which make his public service announcement even more impactful, I’d say.

That’s not all though, music-legend Elton John has also weighed in on the incident, condemning Dababy’s remarks. Sir Elton John previously founded his AIDS Foundation charity back in 1992 and spoke of the rapper’s part in fueling “stigma and discrimination” against affected persons.

Addressing the topic on Instagram, Elton John said:

“We’ve been shocked to read about the HIV misinformation and homophobic statements made at a recent DaBaby show.

“This fuels stigma and discrimination and is the opposite of what our world needs to fight the AIDS epidemic.”

He added: “HIV misinformation and homophobia have no place in the music industry.

“We must break down the stigma around HIV and not spread it. As musicians, it’s our job to bring people together.”

As of writing, Dababy has yet to address either of these comments from his peers but didn’t hold back against an up-and-coming artist named Questlove who recently released a lengthy statement on Instagram about his opinions on Dababy’s remarks during his act on stage.

Questlove explained he was previously asked about who he wished to have on his #SummerOfSoul where he listed a number of music icons with Dababy in the midst. Now, the artist has released an updated version of the list, with the rapper’s name cancelled out and had some more to say in addition.

Taking to his Instagram account, Questlove stated:

“I was hypothetically asked if I was curating an updated version of #SummerOfSoul who would be my acts?

I gave my dream list.

And now I’m updating my list ——because it’s 2021 & fuck the bullshit. I’m especially not here for any savagery (if you’re lost: Google the idiocy of the crossed out). I’m not trine be all performative smurf & create a social flogging or start some click bait headlines. That’s missing the point. But right is right & his actions are wrong. Somebody Gotta say it: Homophobia/Transphobia/Xenophobia/Misogyny/Racism——this should go w/o saying is morally wrong.

& not that fake hiding behind religion holier than thou morally wrong.”

Going on he added: “But “that was fucked up” & wrong. I had to say something. Again I’m not doing this for “what do you want a cookie bro w your “love ye one another” posts?——-black people already have a code about publicly criticizing so I’ll admit i was slow to do this because I mean he don’t know me from Adam. So this will prolly get marked as “old hater” territory. But man…..that shit was not cool at all.

“I dunno man—-maybe I’m turning into a grump: barely said anything about Rih in ‘06 (lemme mind my business), looked the other way w ol bol & that MaGa Hat (he going thru thangs let him work it out)——don’t even get me started on half of my rap heroes damn near becoming f*x news talking points w their russian bot reposts & misinformation on all things facts.

“Huey Newton wisely stated in the early 70s that we as a people should NEVER go so low in life (with what we been through) that we start oppressing/terrorizing the next man in the way we been terrorized for centuries.

“Y’all got my point. Sorry this came off awkward but y’all get the point. Y’all gonna learn that there are other human beings living in the space you are.”
