After years of anticipation, Cardi B has officially revealed the title and release date for her long-teased sophomore album. Titled Am I the Drama?, the 23-track record is set to arrive on September 19th, 2025, via Atlantic Records, marking her first full-length project since her blockbuster debut, Invasion of Privacy, in 2018.

The announcement came just days after the rapper dropped “Outside”, her first solo single in over a year. Produced by Charlie Heat and HeyMicki with co-production by DJ SwanQo, the track marks a defiant reentry into the spotlight. Two days after its release, Cardi confirmed what fans had long been hoping for, posting a dramatic message that signaled both personal reflection and artistic rebirth:

“Seven years of love, life, and loss… I’m not back; I’m beyond. I’m not your villain; I’m your karma. The time is here. The time is now.”

Am I the Drama? will include several previously released fan-favorites, including “Up,” the anthemic “Outside,” and her cultural juggernaut, “WAP,” featuring Megan Thee Stallion. The latter, which broke records and dominated global charts in 2020, was notably held back from Grammy consideration, an omission that many believed was strategic, anticipating the rollout of a larger album campaign that never materialized. Until now.

Cardi’s timeline of solo releases since 2021 has been sporadic but impactful. Prior to “Outside,” her last proper single was “Enough (Miami),” a brief but bold reintroduction. Much of her musical output in recent years has come via high-profile collaborations, working with artists like Megan Thee Stallion (“Bongos”), Latto, Rosalía, Lizzo, Normani, and Summer Walker. While these features kept her voice circulating, fans continued to hunger for a full solo project.

In the years between albums, Cardi hasn’t faded from public view, as the rap-stress dabbled into other forms of entertainment, starring in the film Assisted Living, and headlined Facebook Watch’s Cardi Tries, a charming unscripted series where she explored everything from ballet to firefighting.

The countdown to September 19th has officially begun and we’re here for it!
