In her recently released memoir “The Woman In Me,” pop icon Britney Spears delves into her past relationship with NSYNC’s Justin Timberlake, highlighting what set NSYNC apart from the Backstreet Boys. Spears recalled an awkward moment when Timberlake altered his speech while conversing with R&B artist Ginuwine.

Spears described NSYNC as “so pimp” and noted that they were white boys who had a genuine love for hip hop, setting them apart from the Backstreet Boys, who seemed to consciously “position themselves as a white group.”
She went on, “*NSYNC hung out with Black artists. Sometimes, I thought they tried too hard to fit in. One day, J and I were in New York, going to parts of town I’d never been to before. Walking our way was a guy with a huge, blinged out medallion. He was flanked by two giant security guards. J got all excited and said so loud, ‘Oh yeah, fo shiz, fo shiz! Ginuwine! What’s up, homie?”
It appears fans were amused by the cringe-worthy anecdote, as it has quickly gained attention on social media, with actress Michelle Williams playfully imitating Timberlake’s attempt to appear cool. Williams serves as the narrator of Britney Spears’ audiobook, as Spears opted not to narrate it herself due to the emotional difficulty of reliving certain experiences.
Spears’ memoir has revealed additional personal details, including her struggle to speak for months after her breakup with Timberlake decades ago. Spears also shared about her decision to undergo an abortion while dating Timberlake, as well as the reason behind her head-shaving incident in 2007.
Prior to the memoir’s release, Britney shared a statement addressing some headlines regarding ‘The Woman In Me,’ which she said was “dumb and silly..”
