Lauren Jauregui has announced her forthcoming debut solo project ‘Prelude,’ which will be accompanied by an exclusive global livestream performance.
During her sit-down with Billboard News host Chelsea Briggs, Lauren revealed her debut project will be followed by a special global livestream performance, which will see the singer introduce fans to the body of work.
Lauren said of the project:
“I want the story to tell itself through the music. It’s very introspective. I go through a lot of different emotions and revealings throughout it. And it’s also just the beginning, you know? So it’s just the first round of people seeing me for the songwriter that I am and for the artist that I am across the board, even beyond just the music. Like just the whole vision of everything coming to life.”
‘Prelude,’ according to Jauregui, delves into sensitive subjects ranging from mental health to love. She said, “I feel like I really explore my strength through my vulnerability,” adding that, the body of work is “an unveiling [rather] than a discovery” of her voice, following the extended hiatus of her Fifth Harmony band in 2018.
Jauregui goes on to say: “I want people to experience the rawness of the songs, and I feel like I really captured that. And I’m really capturing that through the process of creating this piece that I’m going to present to people.”
Speaking on her process in songwriting, Lauren said:
“I have learned that I am resilient. I have learned that I truly have a lot of inner-strength and power. And I have learned that I am protected and guided spiritually, and I’ve leaned in a much deeper way than I ever have in my life.”
