The hit comedy-drama Boarders is making a highly anticipated return, with its second season set to premiere on Monday, February 3rd, 2025, on BBC iPlayer and BBC Three. Created and written by BAFTA-nominated Daniel Lawrence Taylor, the show follows the lives of five black inner-city teenagers who earn scholarships to the prestigious British boarding school St. Gilbert’s.
The new season will see Jaheim, Leah, Toby, Omar, and Femi tackling fresh challenges under the leadership of a new acting headmistress, Carol Watlington-Geese, whose arrival shakes up the status quo. As they continue to navigate the complexities of privilege, race, and identity in an elite institution, the students find themselves confronting deeper questions about belonging and ambition.

The core cast from the first season is returning, including Josh Tedeku, Jodie Campbell, Sekou Diaby, Myles Kamwendo, and Aruna Jalloh, with Daniel Lawrence Taylor reprising his role as Gus. Joining them is BAFTA-winning actress Wunmi Mosaku, who will play Jaheim’s mother, Grace, along with Cara Theobold and Michael Salami in new roles. Special guest stars Natalie Cassidy and Alan Cumming will also make appearances.
Produced by Studio Lambert for the BBC, in co-production with Tubi and ZDFneo, the series continues under the direction of Joelle Mae David and Sarmad Masud, with Mykaell Riley returning as Musical Director.
