London-based artist Strandz and South London rap heavyweight Giggs have teamed up for their latest release, “Time.”

The pairs collaboration marks a significant moment for Strandz, who has recently dropped critically-acclaimed tracks such as “Balance” with BOJ and “They Wish” with Unknown T.

Time” sees both artists addressing modern issues, with a particular focus on how suffering is portrayed and capitalised on by the media. The lyrics are a raw commentary on the normalisation of trauma, capturing the terror that arises from a desensitised society.

Strandz explains, “The track ‘Time‘ aims to encapsulate the feeling of terror from a desensitised perspective—looking at how real people’s suffering has been capitalised on by the news and media, ultimately normalising extensive trauma on a mass scale.” He adds that his response was to be brutally honest in his lyrics and to strip back the production so that the message remains front and center.

The production on “Time” is intentionally minimalistic, allowing the power of the lyrics to resonate. Giggs, whose influence has been a significant inspiration for Strandz, lends his distinctive voice to the track, adding a unique dimension that blends experience with authenticity. For Strandz, collaborating with Giggs was a particularly special moment, as it tapped into a personal favourite aspect of Giggs‘ music, breathing new life into the subject matter.

With “Time,” Strandz and Giggs deliver a poignant and empathetic performance, reflecting on the state of the world through a lens that is both critical and deeply personal.
