Atlanta rapper 21 Savage is set to perform in the U.K. for the first time after resolving immigration issues. The U.K.-born rapper, raised in Atlanta, will headline a show at London’s O2 Arena on November 30th, marking his biggest solo performance to date.
The announcement comes shortly after 21 Savage’s first live appearance outside the U.S. during the penultimate Toronto stop of the “It’s All a Blur Tour,” where he joined frequent collaborator Drake on stage. He had been absent from previous Canadian tour dates, with J. Cole and Travis Scott stepping in for Montreal and Vancouver stops respectively.
Drake hinted that She’yaa Bin Abraham-Joseph, better known as 21 Savage, received a green card “straight out of the consulate” in the song “8am in Charlotte” off his latest effort, “For All the Dogs,” ahead of the announcement.
Charles Kuck, 21 Savage’s attorney, recently reaffirmed the rapper’s status as a permanent U.S. resident who is now free to go abroad. Kuck said that after being detained by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers in Georgia in February 2019, 21 Savage had complied with all relevant immigration requirements. Authorities at the time said 21 Savage was “unlawfully present” in the U.S. as his visa from 2005 had already expired upon arrival.
Ahead of the official headline announcement, 21 Savage teased his U.K. homecoming concert with a clip shared on Instagram, which featured childhood memories from the U.K. According to sources, he is also planning an international tour.
