Multi-Grammy-nominated rapper Travis Scott has recently found himself in legal trouble after his alleged involvement in an incident at Miami Beach Marina.
According to witnesses, Scott appeared visibly intoxicated and was asked to exit the boat on multiple occasions. However, Scott‘s response was far from cooperative, which wasn’t the case in the beginning.
As tensions escalated, Scott engaged in a heated exchange with occupants of a nearby boat. Witnesses described a verbal altercation that quickly turned chaotic.
Police then arrived on scene after being summoned around 12:44 am on Thursday (20th June), with disturbance claims.
Scott‘s defiance continued even in the face of law enforcement, who reportedly sensed “a strong smell of alcohol coming from the defendant’s breath.” Officers repeatedly instructed him to leave the area, but he resisted. His behaviour became increasingly disruptive, drawing a crowd of curious onlookers from nearby residents. Eventually, the police arrested him on charges of disorderly intoxication and trespassing around 1:17 am.
Scott posted bail totalling $650 (£512), with the breakdown being $500 (£394) for trespassing charge and $150 (£118) for his disorderly intoxication charge.
Despite the setback, Scott remains on track for his upcoming European tour. Whether this incident will cast a shadow over his performances or serve as a cautionary tale remains to be seen.
