Taking to social media on Monday, 6th February, the head of the EmPawa record label, Oluwatosin Ajibade, better known by his stage name Mr. Eazi, accused Latin music superstar Bad Bunny of copyright infringement.
Mr. Eazi accused Bad Bunny of infringement of the rights of EmPawa musician Joeboy, claiming the Latin star recorded a Joeboy track without seeking the appropriate approval from the label and the artist.
He tweeted, “Yo @sanbenito you need to tell your lawyers to stop messing around and clear that Joeboy rip-off on your album.”

In an attempt to prove his claims, Mr. Eazi subsequently shared YouTube links to both tracks in a subsequent tweet, writing: “Badbunny @sanbenito incase you are not sure what song I’m talking about,” before adding, “Ain’t no way you produced and sang an Afrobeat record lol.”

In a subsequent post on his Linkedin profile, Mr. Eazi voiced his displeasure with Bad Bunny and his label for not obtaining approval for the track, claiming their conduct was condescending and disrespectful.
