Wizkid and Asake have officially joined forces with the release of their collaborative EP Real Vol. 1, after much anticipation. Initially slated for December 2025, the project’s delay only heightened excitement, with both artists confirming its arrival simultaneously on their Instagram accounts.
The release marks a major moment in Afrobeats, bringing together two artists from different generations who currently sit at the center of the genre’s global momentum.
The four-track EP is concise but purposeful, featuring the recently released “Jogodo“, as well as “Turbulence“, “Iskolodo“, and “Alaye“. Lead single “Jogodo“, released a week earlier on January 16th, set the tone for the project, quickly becoming a fan favorite. Additionally, “Turbulence“, accompanied by an official music video, adds visual depth to the rollout, as the remaining tracks round out a project designed to engage emotion.
Real Vol. 1 thrives on contrast and chemistry. Wizkid’s smooth, melodic delivery pairs effortlessly with Asake’s raw, high-energy vocal style, creating a sound that works equally well in chilled settings and high-octane environments. The project highlights their ability to meet in the middle without diluting what makes either artist distinctive, reinforcing the natural synergy they’ve shown in past collaborations.
That chemistry has been building for years. Wizkid previously featured Asake on “Bad Girl” from his 2024 album Morayo, while Asake enlisted Wizkid for “MMS” on his debut album Lungu Boy. Real Vol. 1 represents the first time they’ve expanded that connection into a fully collaborative body of work, giving listeners a more complete picture of their shared creative language.
