An Atlanta car break-in has led to the theft of sensitive, unreleased Beyoncé material, prompting an active police investigation.
The incident occurred on July 8th, 2025, when Beyoncé’s choreographer, Christopher Grant, returned to his rental car to find its rear window smashed and all luggage stolen. Among the stolen items were five thumb drives containing watermarked unreleased music, plans for upcoming show footage, and past and future set lists. An Apple MacBook, headphones, and luxury clothing were also taken.
Police have tracked signals from the stolen electronics to a specific area but have yet to recover any items. A suspect has been identified, and a warrant has been issued, though the individual remains at large.
The theft occurred days before the Atlanta leg of Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter Tour, which began shortly after the incident and ran for four nights. The tour, named after her Grammy-winning 2024 album, is set to conclude in Las Vegas later this month.
Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter recently earned her first Album of the Year Grammy, making her the most Grammy-nominated artist in history, with 32 wins.
