According to reports, Beyoncé and Adidas are severing ties.
The Hollywood Reporter quoted a source as saying that the sportswear brand and the head of Ivy Park had cut ties owing to creative differences.
According to the publication, “Beyoncé is excitedly looking to reclaim her brand, chart her own path and maintain creative freedom.”
The news follows nearly 5 years together after Bey signed to partner with the sportswear brand following her full ownership of Ivy Park after establishing the company with co-founder Topshop in 2016. The two brands have had several successful campaigns over the years and have reportedly opted to part ways due to creative disagreements.
Beyoncé previewed Ivy Park’s upcoming collaboration with Adidas, dubbed Park Trail, in January during her private performance in Dubai. Ice Spice also released a couple pictures from her fashion campaign with Ivy Park later that month.
The collection includes brand-new athletic clothing such as tracksuits, hoodies, jackets, and synthetic fur coats. According to a press release, the new collection is a “trail-blazing expression of performance wear inspired by the resilience of the outdoors, the spirit of the streets, and the possibilities of the future.”
The report arrives as Beyoncé gears up to embark on her Renaissance World Tour in May. The itinerary for the tour, which will start in Stockholm and end in New Orleans, includes stops in Stockholm, Paris, London, Marseille, and Amsterdam before returning to North American cities like Toronto, Vancouver, New York City, and Houston.
As of press time, neither Bey nor Adidas have yet to release a statement to address the reports. Stay tuned to YEEEAAH! Network for more updates as they arrive.
