The dispute for DMX’s estate is still going on, with another woman claiming to be the late rapper’s child.
According to Page Six, Raven Barmer-Simmons is the latest person to claim X’s estate, bringing the total number of supposed offspring to 15. The estate is worth less than $1 million, according to court filings filed in May, with some negative assessments putting the value at $50,000.
What his estate is said to be quite shocking information to his fans as DMX Was no mediocre rapper. History has it that DMX is the only rapper to have his first five albums reach No.1 on the Billboard 200, with three of them earning multiple platinum certifications: It’s Dark and Hell Is Hot (four times), Flesh of My Flesh, Blood of My Blood (three times), and… And Then There Was X (three times) (five times).
The revelation comes less than 24 hours after three of DMX’s sons from his 16-year marriage to Tashera Simmons were appointed as the estate’s provisional administrators. The next step, according to Herbert Nass, Xavier, Tacoma, and Sean Simmons’ trusts and estates counsel, is for all of X’s purported offspring to take a paternity test.
“The next big thing is to determine who are the rightful heirs. The estate is going to ask everyone to prove paternity through DNA testing. All the legal children of DMX will be entitled to an equal share of his estate,” he said.
“We need to collect assets and pay debts and administration costs. We don’t have a lot of information about his income streams, but now the temporary administrators have been appointed, we can ask questions and expect answers.” Nass also added.
