BBC 1’s 1Xtra Rap Show presenter Tiffany Calver has announced her stepping down from the show after four years for the station.

She confirmed the news on Instagram saying: “Where do I start? It has been a dream come true to host the 1Xtra Rap Show and such a privilege to be behind that mic, hold those conversations, moments, memories with all of the exceptional artists that have stepped into the studio over the past 4 years.”
“I’d like to thank you all for trusting me with your music, your stories and for allowing me into your worlds for two hours every saturday night on BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra.
“To find out that it is Kenny Allstar taking the reins fills me with so much joy. There is nobody more capable of taking care of such an important platform for the culture.”
“I’m looking forward to my next chapter. It’s a new era and I am stepping into it with so much anticipation and ambition. I can’t begin to tell you just how excited I am about this next phase of my journey. I will be back with more news on that in good time.”
“My last show will be on March 25th, and then we are partying until the early hours at Village Underground.
“Thank you all for the support and kindness that has kept me going more than you even know. Thank you for listening. We made history!”
The 28-year-old’s legendary two-hour Saturday night slot will be taken over by Kenny Allstar,29, from London.
The Dj and producer also confirmed his new role via Instagram saying: “ANNOUNCEMENT!!!! From as young as I could remember I always wanted to be on radio… & the minute I entered the game I knew I was never going to give up or slow down until I made it to the biggest platform / radio station in the country
“Some said it could never be possible especially coming from my environment but proving doubters wrong is my motivation this is defo one of the greatest achievements of my life 🙏🏾
