Everyone knows who The Weeknd is, right? The Weeknd is the most streamed artist on Spotify, and there’s no stopping him now. The 31-year-old singer and songwriter, best known for her breakout single “Blinding Lights,” now has 85.6 million Spotify subscribers.
According to Forbes, the singer replaces J.B as the most-listened-to musician on Spotify, with an impressive 83.3 million followers. Unfortunately, The Weeknd is behind Justin Bieber’s Peaches singer in terms of monthly followers because of Justin’s prior record of 94.6 million.
In a talk show last year, he promised fans that his latest album would be more upbeat, and it was launched on January 7th. To talk about his current project, Oneohtrix Point Never, Quincy Jones and Tyler the Creator were referred to as “a new sound cosmos from the imagination of The Weeknd.”
With the launch of Take My Breath in mid-year, the album is inspired by 1980s melodies. A second song, Sacrifice, came out two weeks ago, and a third, Out of Time, will release in the company week. The Weeknd has been awarded Awards even after missing the ceremonies and barring his record company from registering any of his tracks.
