Katy B, the English singer-songwriter who has kept a quiet profile in recent years, made an unforgettable come back to the scene earlier this year when she donated her voice to a fresh rendition of Moses Boyd’s “2 Far Gone.”

The song was enthusiastically received, demonstrating how much the singer’s voice had been missed. She then took advantage of the great response and recorded two more singles, “Under My Skin” and “Open Wound,” with South London’s sensational singer, Jaz Kravis. Now, after a five-year hiatus, Katy B has launched her debut project, dubbed ‘Peace and Offerings.’

Katy B’s new work showcases an improvement in her sound; she returns to her club beginnings while still incorporating a little of pop, with the overall sound leaning mostly towards R&B. “I think I consciously leaned into my R&B side more on this project. With the clubs being closed, it reflects what I’d be listening to and vibing to at home.” she said with regards to her music sounding more like R&B now.

Katy B also shared the visuals for the EP’s third track, “Lay Low.” Mike Brainchild’s peaceful pop music complements her performance, which includes nice guitar riffs and brassy flutters. To underline her creative branding, director Ash K Halliburton chooses a black and orange backdrop reminiscent of old Hollywood and Broadway.
