On Friday, HBO shared the first trailer of their forthcoming documentary on DMX which they’ve dubbed, “DMX: Don’t Try To Understand”. The documentary follows the rapper on tour after his release from jail in 2019 for tax evasion.

The trailer shows DMX on his 20th Anniversary tour for his album, “It’s Dark and Hell is Hot, his effort to navigate his life after his release from jail. The trailer also shows the late rapper motivating and teaching the fans he meets. It is no wonder then that numerous fans of his discussed in the video the bond they share with the rapper and his music.

As a result of his being found guilty for dodging $1.7 million in taxes between 2002 and 2005, DMX was sentenced to a year in jail in November 2017. The tour that the documentary is based upon happens to be his last tour before his unexpected death in April of this year.

DMX: Don’t Try to Understand which will air on the 25th of November on HBO Max is directed by Christopher Frierson with executive producer Bill Simmons.
