According to one of XXXTentacion’s brothers, Cleopatra Bernard, the late rapper’s mum, has been hiding money by creating several shell companies.
Corey Pack, X’s half-brother, filed a lawsuit against X’s mother last week, alleging that she has been moving funds from the estate to several holding firms, according to NBC Miami.
Robert Stok, attorney for Pack states that the “fraudulent transfer complaint seeks to recover assets being transferred from the probate estate by XXX’s mother, Cleo Bernard, in order to deprive our client Corey Pack, of a recovery, if he’s successful in his efforts to secure his inheritance rights either under his late brother’s trust or will.”
According to the lawsuit, Pack and another of X’s brothers each own 25% of the estate, while the rapper’s mother owns 50%.
Last June, Pack’s mother, Jodi Kavney, filed a lawsuit against Bernard, alleging that he is entitled to a reasonable share of XXXTentacion’s assets, which is worth more than $50 million.
According to TMZ, Pack’s mother alleged Bernard devised a scheme to steal millions from X’s estate. Bernard refuted the charges, but Kavney said that Pack was forced out of the estate as a result of an alleged bargain made with the mother of XXX’s child.
Kavney filed the suit in the hopes of reclaiming funds that she claims were wrongly transferred. The amount Bernard allegedly fraudulently transferred is not mentioned in the latest lawsuit.
This news comes after X’s estate recently announced they will be releasing a couple of the rapper’s unreleased songs as NFT’s.
