Reports released have shared that Prime Minister Boris Johnson is considering a national month-long lockdown in England as the current death toll for a worst-case scenario in winter looks to be overtaken if no action is taken.
With an initial plan to announce on Monday 2nd November, an early leak to the press may have the PM address the nation this weekend. The hope for the more intense lockdown is meant to “Save Christmas” as the death toll keeps rising.
It is believed that London is set to follow counties and cities in the North East of England to increase restrictions to Tier 3. Under tier 3, pubs and bars must close and no mixing of households is allowed except for within support bubbles.
Public transport is also restricted to essential use only.
