Wendy Williams faces backlash for comments made about TikToker Swavy’s murder on her TV show, which the family of the youngster feels the TV personality now owes an apology for as she portrayed him in a negative way and while outright being disrespectful.
According to TMZ who spoke with Swavy’s mother and elder brother, Chanell Clark and Rahkim Clark, regarding Wendy’s on-camera appearance earlier this week, Wendy failed in introducing Swavy appropriately before getting to the topic, as she introduced Swavy to her audience by comparing him to social media followers and showing a less-than-flattering snapshot of the youngster.
Specifically, his demise, which the tv-host showed during her show although being a sensitive clip, which clearly explains why Chanelle and Rahkim are demanding Wendy apologizes, not to mention the thousands of people who watched at home and were appalled by her treatment of such a delicate subject.
In order to explain why Wendy’s remarks were so upsetting, Rahkim takes the lead by pointing out, this isn’t simply another celebrity gossip that she may cover on a daily basis because for them, this is their own flesh and blood, and it is real life.
Though Rakhim’s anger is justified, it’s probably nothing compared to Chanelle’s, who claims she witnessed her son being shot in Delaware on Monday and was present during his final moments. She tells TMZ straight up, Wendy owes her/the family an enormous apology for mentioning her son in that manner.
Wendy portrayed Swavy as a gangster or someone who dabbled in the streets, according to the Millers, and this couldn’t be further from the truth. As a result, they’re seeking a complete acknowledgment of her mistake which will be followed with a correction on her show.
Although Swavy was already famous online, his family believes she tainted his reputation by exposing him to a whole new audience in the worst conceivable way.
As of press, Wendy has yet to respond to the backlash so keep it locked to be updated as the story develops.
