Global Citizen executives assembled an outstanding and diverse lineup for their maiden festival event in Black Star Square, Accra – Ghana, which ran concurrently with its Central Park’s Great Lawn New York City extravaganza, with the goal of generating funds to assist in funding the eradication of extreme poverty.

Bringing together the likes of Usher, SZA, Stormzy, Tems, Gyakie, Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, and many more, fans were treated to a one-of-a-kind experience, which began with a speech from Ghana’s president, H.E. Nana Akufo-Addo, who urged his citizens to be patriots and support movements that strive to secure the future of the nation.

The Saturday, 24th festival had several unforgettable moments, including surprise stage appearances by Oxlade, Pheelz, and Tiwa Savage, and Ghana musician Yaw Tog gifting Ghanaian-British rapper Stormzy and his mother with pieces of Kente clothes backstage.
