Universal is aptly amped for the next installment in the Fast and Furious franchise as the studio has just announced the release date for the first part of the eagerly anticipated finale.

According to Deadline, the studio has pushed the release date out to April 7, 2023, and it will be the first time the film has been released during Easter weekend since 2017’s Furious 7 which incidentally also marks the highest-grossing film in the Fast franchise to date.

The franchise is set to end with two parts with director Justin Lin and writer Chris Morgan are set to reprise their roles. To be confirmed are the remaining cast members but with Vin Diesel on board as the producer, we can assume he’s set to reprise his role as Dom.

With Dwayne Johnson alluding to the start of production for Hobbs & Shaw last year, it is currently unclear when filming for part one will begin. However, the second installment is expected to arrive in 2024. Per sources, the official title for the forthcoming installment is expected to be revealed by Vin Diesel soon.
