Who said anything about coronavirus having anything on Kendrick Lamar? Just as the virus has provided a hindrance to the growth of some artists this year you can take Kendrick out, as Universal Music Publishing Group (UMPG) has signed him to an exclusive, worldwide administration deal which was announced today by the publisher.
Widely seen as one of the most influential hip-hop artists of all-time, the Compton rapper, songwriter and producer has won 13 Grammy Awards.
UMPG Chairman and CEO Jody Gerson said, “Kendrick Lamar is not only one of the greatest lyricists that has ever lived, but he has done as much or more than any artist to promote much-needed change in our society through music. I and my colleagues at UMPG are deeply honoured to be afforded the opportunity to join Kendrick, [TDE] family to help forward his unique and important vision.”
Tiffith added, “Kendrick and I are excited for our new partnership with Jody Gerson and UMPG. Jody was passionate from the jump – she fought to make this deal happen.”
Cheers to more wins Kendrick!
