The feat was confirmed Friday, July 30th on BBC Radio 1 with Scott Mills. The critically-acclaimed album came in hot, surpassing Anne Marie’s Therapy and Olivia Rodrigo’s Sour, which came in at number two and three, respectively.
Dave not only topped the Albums Chart, but also the Singles Chart, with three singles from the album making the top 10, namely his tracks – “Clash” featuring Stormzy which came in at #2, “Verdansk” at #4, and “In The Fire” at #6.
Dave’s second album, We’re All Alone In This Together, has garnered a lot of praise since its release last Friday, with many critics predicting the project is set to be a future classic.
A sentiment we share here at YEEEAAH!, seeing as the project features some of music’s best including Stormzy, Wizkid, Snoh Aalegra, Boj, James Blake, Ghetts, Giggs, Fredo, and Meeks, all of whom brought on board their very best from a variety of genres.
Taking to Instagram, Dave expressed his excitement for his new No. 1 album, writing, “A lot of emotions but this is the work of the people, the best supporters on earth… my family and friends but most importantly God.
“For this we give God the glory. 74,000 album sales in 1 week and it’s God’s doing. It’s our number 1. History.”
Serving as the second studio album for the artist, ‘We’re All In This Together’ follows Dave’s 2019 ‘Psychodrama’ which drew similar fan reception and went on to win a slew of accolades, including the 2019 Hyundai Mercury Prize.
Congratulations to Dave on the massive win!
