On Tuesday, Tory Lanez was handcuffed and held in custody for violating a protective order in a felony assault case involving Megan Thee Stallion.

Judge David V. Herriford of the Superior Court of Los Angeles County first heard almost an hour of arguments regarding Lanez’s social media activity, with the final decision being a result of some of Lanez’s tweets that appear “to be clear messages” directed at Megan, according to initial on-the-ground updates from reporter Nancy Dillon. As a result, Lanez was found guilty of violating a protection order as well as other charges and was required to pay a new bond of $350,000.

The rapper’s bail has been posted according to Dillon and the rapper is in process of being released from custody pending trial, which is set for September 14th.

According to a report by Rolling Stone, Tuesday’s hearing also included references to a particular DJ Akademiks tweet, as shown below.

The news comes months after Megan was forced to address the emergence of a false narrative concerning the shooting case on social media, where the ‘Savage’ rapper turned to social media to explain her side of the incident, resulting in a heated online mess.
