The Canadian rapper-singer faces an additional felony weapon possession charge, in relation to the alleged shooting of Megan Thee Stallion in 2020.

According to The Shade Room, Lanez has been charged with firing a firearm with gross negligence, in addition to previous felony charges, assault with a semiautomatic firearm, and carrying an unlicensed firearm in a vehicle.

A rep for the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office confirmed the report to Complex on Tuesday, Dec. 6th, saying: “A felony count of discharging a firearm with gross negligence was added to the information.”

As per amended court documents dated Dec. 5th which was obtained by Complex, it’s asserted that “in the commission and attempted commission of the above offense, [Tory Lanez] personally inflicted great bodily injury upon” Megan Jovon Ruth Pete, professionally known as Megan Thee Stallion.

Furthermore, court documents suggest that Lanez’s alleged actions displayed “great violence, great bodily harm, threat of great bodily harm, and other acts disclosing a high degree of cruelty, viciousness, and callousness.”
