The Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Tiwa Savage has been invited to make her debut performance at the upcoming King Charles III coronation concert.
Savage will join other renowned musicians such as Paloma Faith, rock ‘n’ roll legend Steve Winwood, renowned pianist Lang Lang, and pop star Nicole Scherzinger, at the Windsor Castle grounds on 7th May.
The announcement that Tiwa will be performing at the concert has sparked excitement among music enthusiasts all around the world.
The Nigerian singer-songwriter expressed her appreciation for the rare opportunity in an interview with the BBC.
She said, “It’s truly an honour to represent Africa and the Commonwealth at such an historic event. I look forward to joining the celebrations and bringing Afrobeats to Windsor Castle for the first time.”

Live broadcasts of the event would be made available on BBC One, BBC iPlayer, BBC Radio 2, and BBC Sounds.
Tiwa will serve as the sole Nigerian-based artist billed to perform, but JERUB, a fellow Nigerian-born and Nottingham-based musician, has also been invited to perform at the prestigious event. The aspiring musician, who draws inspiration from pop, soul, and indie music, was named a finalist in BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge Introducing talent program.
The aforementioned musicians will join previously announced performers such as Lionel Richie, Katy Perry, Andrea Bocelli, Take That, Alexis Ffrench, Sir Bryn Terfel, Freya Ridings, as well as a collaboration of five Royal patronages.
Several well-known actors, such as Tom Jones, Bear Grylls, and Oti Mabuse, are featured in prerecorded sketches and segments that shed light on little-known facts about the king.
During the event, King Charles III and his wife Camila, will officially be crowned. King Charles III previously ascended the throne in September following the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II.
