Many fans refer to their favorite artists’ albums as defining eras in their lives, and The Weeknd is one of the few musicians that completely embraces this.
He’s been implying that we’re nearing the end of the present period for weeks, tweeting stuff like “the dawn is coming.” He even tweeted about his new song a few weeks ago, indicating that he was getting there with it and confirming that it is a complete project.

Citing similar actions from previous releases, wiping his Instagram clean almost certainly indicates new music and an entire aesthetic change.
Taking to social media last night, the Canadian star encouraged fans to say their final goodbyes while alluding to something new coming soon. It is more than likely that his new album might be released as early as this summer but most likely before the start of his tour next year.
transitional stage almost done…
