The Rap Game UK is a BAFTA-nominated competition program in which six unsigned rappers undergo a masterclass in rap that is required to crack into the music industry.
Hosted by DJ Target, Krept, and Konan, each episode will have challenges to assist contestants to develop their talents, as well as coaching from some of the industry’s biggest stars, including Ghetts, Chip, Dizzee Rascal, Ivorian Doll, Russ, Hardy Caprio, Darkoo, and more.
The previous two seasons were filmed in Birmingham, but this season will be produced in Manchester, with a new monetary reward of £20,000 going to the winner, as well as a mentorship program to assist them to produce, launch, and promote new music after the contest.
Speaking of the new season, Ricky Cooper, BBC Factual Commissioning Editor said: “After finding incredible new artists from all over Britain, this series of The Rap Game UK is set to be bigger and better than ever. The show’s unique blend of authenticity, storytelling, humour and epic MC showdowns has proven a hit with audiences, and I can’t wait to see who Krept, Konan and DJ Target crown this year’s winner.”
DJ Target returns with another edition of ‘The Rap Map,’ which provides ordinary people a chance to have their bars heard by the greatest in the game, in the new season of The Rap Game UK.
You must film a video in under 60 seconds, vertically, acapella with no rhythms, rapping about your life to earn your spot on the map. Each week, DJ Target will choose his favorite entry to air on 1Xtra. For more information, click here.
