This year’s nominees come after careful consulting with 161 music industry experts which include writers, editors, radio presenters, TV producers, and previous nominees Billie Eilish, Stormzy, Jorja Smith, Charli XCX, AJ Tracey, and Wolf Alice.

The list has often been accurate in predicting artists who make it to have a huge career with Adele, Sam Smith, and Ray BLK winning in the past. Last year Celeste beat Arlo Parks and YUNGBLUD to the top and went on to be the first artist from the list to record an original track for the annual John Lewis Christmas advert.
