It was Teyana Taylor’s birthday yesterday 10th Dec and the stars seem to have aligned in her favour. The 30yr old announced on Instagram, that she has been named the new creative director for PLT.
Taking to Twitter, Teyana teased the news in a cryptic tweet 3 days prior to the big announcement. When she shared a link to an Instagram post of herself wearing a swimsuit and mentioned PLT as the swimsuit designer.
Fast-forwarding a couple of days, Teyana in a grand gesture announced her new position with PLT, and with a touching message, she spoke to her new beginning.
She said: “Dirty 30 and it’s time to make some more BIG moves. Remember when I said “when one door closes another one opens..either that or I’m picking the locks”? Well I damn sure did & I am proud to announce that I have officially been named CREATIVE DIRECTOR of @prettylittlething 😩😆😆.
We’re going to be collaborating on some amazing projects together and i cannot wait to get started! What a way to bring some positive vibes & more #blackgirlmagic into 2021! Happy birthday to me! 🤎🎈🤎”
This news comes a week after Teyana announced her retirement from the music industry. She explained days later saying her mental and emotional health was at stake as she kept feeling under-appreciated with Def Jam Records with barely any support coming from the record label.
We are so proud of the new career choice for Teyana and we know she will be a great addition to the UK-based retailer.
