Given the huge popularity of Taylor Swift’s re-recorded version of ‘Fearless,’ it’s hard to believe the singer would want to miss out on much-anticipated plaudits for the song, but that’s exactly what she wants to do.

As previously reported, the ‘Shake It Off’ hitmaker is currently re-recording and re-releasing a large portion of her catalog after her masters were purchased in a contentious sale.

Because the projects are technically “new” recordings, they are eligible for various awards, including the Grammys and CMAs, however, Taylor intends not to submit, per a new statement.

According to Billboard, a rep for the singer said: “After careful consideration, Taylor Swift will not be submitting Fearless (Taylor’s Version) in any category at this year’s upcoming Grammy and CMA Awards.

Fearless has already won four Grammys including album of the year, as well as the CMA Award for album of the year in 2009/2010 and remains the most awarded country album of all time.”

Furthermore, the statement made mention of Taylor’s recent album ‘Evermore,’ saying the project will be submitted for the aforementioned awards. The first of her 2020 December surprise ‘Folklore’ however, has already nabbed the award for Album of the Year during the 2021 Grammy Awards in March.
