Taylor Swift has made history as she sets the new record as the most cumulative weeks at No. 1 in the history of Billboard 200 charts.
‘Folklore’ returns to No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 chart, collecting a seventh nonconsecutive week atop the tally. This makes Taylor the new record holder as she beats Whitney Huston’s long-standing record.
As of the ending of the tracking week, September 24th, ‘Folklore’ had earned 87,000 units sold and has racked up notable honours which includes:
- most weeks in the pole position list in almost four years.
- most weeks #1 since Drake’s ‘Views’ ruled for 13 non-consecutive weeks in 2016.
- breaks Whitney Houston’s record for the most cumulative weeks at #1 among women.
This means Taylor is the new record holder as she passed Whitney’s record of 46 total weeks at No.1 on the coveted chart.
While Whitney managed the feat with four albums, Taylor has done so across seven.
This week also saw Taylor add signed copies of the surprise LP to her web-store, as well as merchandise bundles too.
Congratulations to Taylor Swift for this new milestone in her career.
