As previously reported, during Dababy’s performance at Rolling Loud Miami on Sunday, July 25th, the ‘Rockstar’ rapper angered the LGBTQ community and others, when he took time off his set to address the crowd with seemingly insensitive remarks that sent the internet into a frenzy.

Dababy said: “If you didn’t show up today with HIV, AIDS, or any of them deadly sexually transmitted diseases, that’ll make you die in two to three weeks, then put your cellphone lighter up….Ladies, if your pussy smell like water, put your cellphone lighter up. Fellas, if you ain’t sucking dick in the parking lot, put your cellphone lighter up.”

Amid the backlash which has trended all day on Twitter and several other platforms, rapper T.I. decided to take a stand and offer his support to the heavily criticized rapper.

T.I. wrote in the comment section of a video about Dababy’s supposed rant:

“If Lil Nas X can kick his shit in peace… so should DaBaby [shrug emoji]…#Equality.”

While the Atlanta rapper did not elaborate on his comment, he released a clip on Instagram, explaining his point of view, which can be viewed below.

In the video, T.I. is heard saying: “Social media’s full of confusion. Words are often misconstrued. And to be honest with you, if homosexuals have more rights than heterosexual people just say that. Let’s let that be the law, is that the law? I just feel like, I respect gays, especially the ones who have the courage and bravery to step out and live in their truth, I respect that. … But, I respect it the same way if you’re a heterosexual person, I respect it the same way. So I ain’t even seen all the hoopla about, some of you motherfuckers just be up in arms fake caring just cause you ain’t got shit going on in your life over here.”

He went on to say that, there “ain’t nothing in the world” that would justify him hating someone “just because they do something different in the bedroom.”

T.I. ignores the issue with DaBaby by merely condemning people who criticize him in the video, equating homophobia to a genuinely held opinion rather than hate speech.

He went on to add that he had “a lot of respect” for “people like Lil Nas X and Frank Ocean,” prior to claiming that he was falsely accused of homophobia just because he is “proud to be a heterosexual.”

He stated, “Just because I am proud of what I am, don’t mean I hate what you are….Ain’t no hate in that, bruh. If I’m proud to be Black that don’t make me hate you ‘cause you’re white.”

T.I. then brought the conversation back to Lil Nas X, saying:

“For instance, the Lil Nas X shit. The performances and video, man I got a lot of respect for bruh because he had the courage to live his truth, but that shit ain’t for me. … Just can’t look at it. But I feel the same way, and I don’t want my children seeing it, either. … But I still feel the same way about the ‘WAP’ video, I actually enjoyed the ‘WAP’ video a little bit better, but I still feel the same way.”

He followed up by elaborating on his first remark at the end of the video.

“If you have a Lil Nas X video, and him living his truth, you gone damn sure have people like DaBaby who gone speak they truth..There ain’t nothing wrong with none of that. It ain’t got to be no hate, it’s all honesty.”

Following T.I. ‘s comments, Dababy took to social media to share some words of own, seemingly alluding to his words being taken out of context and blaming the media for pushing that narrative.

Baby broke his silence saying: “I wasn’t going on a rant,’ he said before later continuing, ‘even my gay fans don’t have AIDS…my gay fans don’t go for that. They aren’t nasty gay n***as. They ain’t junkies.”

In response to all the hoopla on social media, citing T.I.’s Instagram clip above, the troll master himself took to Twitter to share a simple tweet, which explains exactly what it all means to him.

I guess we know what Lil Nas X thinks about the entire situation then, who knows, he might just base his next hit track on this.
