Swizz Beatz came under fire from the fans of Janet Jackson, following the discussion he had with Timbaland during the follow-up reflection after Sunday’s Verzuz Battle between Gladys Knight and Patti Labelle.
The two producers who are the creators of Verzuz Battle disagreed that longtime friends and collaborators Janet Jackson and Missy Elliot would be a good pair for future showdowns. Beatz insinuated that Janet did not have enough hits to compete and this did not sit down well with Janet’ fans.

He took to social media on Tuesday, to clarify his original statement. He captioned his post, “I still to this day don’t think Janet vs Missy is a good matchup 🤷🏽♂️ I said what I said 🙏🏽 y’all know that match up doesn’t make sense at all 😂 @verzuztv love and blessings 🙌🏽 FYI what I mean by a better person! I mean a person that fit the vibe better !!!!”
Janet Jackson has not commented on this assertion, but Missy, on the other hand, did not support Swizz’s assertion.
