Swizz Beatz has revealed that DMX’s posthumous studio album will be released on May 28. ‘Exodus’ will come under Def Jam Records with Swizz Beatz serving as the album’s executive producer.

“My brother X was one of the most pure and rare souls I’ve ever met. He lived his life dedicated to his family and music,” Beatz said. “Most of all, he was generous with his giving and loved his fans beyond measure. This album, X couldn’t wait for his fans all around the world to hear and show just how much he valued each and every single person that has supported him unconditionally.”

‘Exodus’ will be DMX’s first album for Def Jam in 18 years. The most recent was the “Grand Champ” in 2003. The title of the project is inspired by X’s son Exodus Simmons. Jonathan Mannion, the original photographer who shot some of DMX’s most iconic photographs during his career, created the album artwork.

DMX’s VERZUZ battle with Snoop Dogg was one of his last public appearances which saw the two rap legends’ friendship publicly displayed.

During a recent interview with Ebro, Snoop reminisces about his friend DMX, sharing unheard tales of the legend.
