Spike Lee is set to breathe new life into Akira Kurosawa’s iconic 1963 crime thriller ‘High and Low‘ with his upcoming film ‘Highest 2 Lowest.’

The reinterpretation, produced by A24 and slated for a theatrical release before its global debut on Apple TV+, boasts a stellar cast including Denzel Washington, A$AP Rocky, and Ice Spice.

The highly-anticipated film will see Rocky star in the lead role as Yung Felon, though details about his character’s impact on the plot remain under wraps.

Meanwhile, Denzel Washington, who has previously worked with Lee, stars as a music mogul who owns a record label. The collaboration marks their fifth, with previous successes including ‘Malcolm X‘ and ‘Inside Man‘. Additionally, Ice Spice will appear in the film, though the specifics of her role have not been disclosed.
