Skepta has publicly criticised the behaviour of several adult men who approached North West during Paris Fashion Week, calling the interactions “sickening” after videos of the 13-year-old went viral online.
The footage shows North reaching out to greet one man with a handshake, only for him to pull her into a hug instead, leaving her visibly uncomfortable. Other clips and photos appear to show grown men placing their arms around her shoulders while posing for pictures, prompting widespread debate about respecting personal boundaries, particularly with children.
Reacting on X, Skepta said the teenager’s body language made her intentions clear. “A blind man could see she wanted a handshake,” he wrote while resharing one of the videos. In a follow-up post, the rapper added that although he usually stays out of other people’s business, seeing “grown men, complete strangers” trying to use North‘s fame made him feel “sick,” punctuating his message with vomiting emojis.

After receiving criticism from some social media users, Skepta doubled down on his stance, reminding people that North is only 13 years old. He argued that her attempt to offer a handshake should have been respected and said he was shocked by the number of people defending the men’s actions.
He also responded to comments suggesting North‘s celebrity status or appearance meant she should be treated differently, urging parents to “protect” their children. In his final post on the subject, Skepta described the incident as “sickening,” adding that more people need to learn to read and respect body language.
North, the eldest daughter of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, has increasingly stepped into the spotlight in recent years. She released her debut EP, N0rth4evr, earlier this year after previously performing at The Lion King‘s 30th anniversary concert, although the incident has sparked renewed conversations about the treatment of young celebrities and the importance of respecting one’s personal space.
