Last week, the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) updated its logs to reveal ‘Love Lies’ is now 5x Platinum in the United States, this shows sales equivalence of at least 5 million in the country.
The 2018 released cut, produced by Charlie Handsome is found aboard the soundtrack to the 2018 hit film ‘Love, Simon’, ‘Love Lies’ has not only collected a wide range of awards at its height, including ASCAP, BMI, and iHeartRadio trophies. It also serves as both singers’ first top 10 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 as leading acts.
This win comes as the highest certification to date for Normani, as it beats the performance of her x Platinum ‘Dancing with a Stranger’ with Sam Smith and the 1x Platinum success of her solo single ‘Motivation.’
For Khalid, who can already boast of 15 singles to his credit Platinum or higher, this win comes as his second-highest certification to date and follows the 7x Platinum success of his 2017-released hit ‘Location.’
‘Love Lies’ is truly a gift that keeps on giving to its creators Kahlid and Normani.
