Pop Smoke fans have long been waiting for a date, to which they can expect to see his posthumous film debut in Eddie Huang’s ‘Boogie’ which is set to premiere on March 5th, 2021 via Focus features.
‘Boogie’ will serve as Huang’s feature-film directorial debut and it will also have unreleased music from the late Pop Smoke. Cast members include Taylor Takahashi, Taylour Paige, Pamelyn Chee, Jorge Lendeborg Jr., Alexa Mareka, Mike Moh, and Perry Yung.
‘Boogie’ tells a “coming-of-age story of Alfred ‘Boogie’ Chin (Taylor Takahashi), a basketball phenom living in Queens, New York, who dreams of one day playing in the NBA. While his parents pressure him to focus on earning a scholarship to an elite college, Boogie must find a way to navigate a new girlfriend, high school, on-court rivals like Monk (played by Pop), and the burden of expectation.”
This announcement comes months after Huang shared an Instagram video of Pop Smoke acting and fans have long been waiting to see more.
