Gearing up for his trial next month in Chicago, the ‘Trapped In A Closet’ singer is now facing additional charges in his criminal case and it includes allegations that he sexually abused a male juvenile whom he met at a McDonald’s.
State prosecutors handling Kelly’s federal sex trafficking case submitted the shocking new evidence on Friday, alleging that it supports their claims that Kelly committed a host of additional crimes, including the alleged abuse of an underage boy.
According to the documents acquired by TMZ, Kelly met a 17-year-old kid at a McDonald’s in 2006 and invited him to a party at his Chicago home. The youngster attended with his parents, but according to the feds, Kelly urged him to come around by himself the next time, which the 17-year-old allegedly did, and things reportedly got sexual.
Kelly established a sexual connection with the kid after making repeated trips to his home, according to the feds, under the pretense of attempting to help kickstart the boy’s singing career. Prosecutors believe that shortly after, the 17-year-old introduced Kelly to yet another underage boy, who was either 16 or 17 at the time, and that Kelly attempted to sexually abuse him as well.
According to the feds, it wasn’t until years later that something happened between the second teenager and Kelly. Kelly allegedly began a sexual relationship with him as well, and that he’d force the boy to have sex with women in his circle and that he allegedly recorded several of those interactions.
The federal government is also seeking authorization to support even more allegations with new evidence it claims it has received, including the assertion that somebody on R. Kelly’s team successfully paid a Cook County official for inside information on the case in 2019.
The alleged Cook County official is said to have taken $2,500 from a member of Kelly’s team, as well as a backup phone meant for communication. The individual is described as a clerk… but remains anonymous.
As at press, a judge has yet to rule on what the state prosecutors are seeking, which is to submit this new evidence they claim they have to have reviewed in order to file additional charges against the singer.
However, the trial is supposedly scheduled to begin in roughly four weeks.
