The rock legend remembers an encounter he had with Elvis Presley in a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, revealing that he “wouldn’t work with him,” saying the king of rock was a “Racist.”

Jones was asked if he had ever worked with Elvis in the past, to which he answered:

“No. I wouldn’t work with him.”

“I was writing for [orchestra leader] Tommy Dorsey, oh God, back then in the ’50s. And Elvis came in, and Tommy said, ‘I don’t want to play with him.’ He was a racist motherf****er. I’m going to shut up now.”

One would think after such a bombshell, Jones will be inclined to shed more light on the accusation but the legend refused to say more.

With his notoriously candid views on Hollywood racism and drug use, the musical maestro kicks off The Hollywood Reporter’s Icon series.

As it stands, we are left with our thoughts to decide what we believe following the reveal but it is no doubt that Elvis has a massive fan base, and that could be a factor in Jones’ lack of elaboration.

With all that said, what are your thoughts?
